UK security threat level lowered as police close on bomber's suspected network

Investigators believe 22-year-old Manchester-born suicide bomber Salman Abedi, from a family of Libyan origin, acted as part of a terrorist network and their focus had been on intercepting his wider network.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd says that "the operation is still at full tilt" and "we can't be entirely sure that it's closed".

Hopkins said it's "important that we continue to stand together" following the terror attack, which saw British-born Muslim Salman Abedi kill 22 people at the Manchester Arena following a concert by United States singer Ariana Grande.

As runners pounded the streets of the northwestern English city, police arrested a 25-year-old man in the eastern Old Trafford area bringing the number now detained on United Kingdom soil in connection with the attack to 12.

Police release surveillance-camera images of Abedi on the night of the attack and appeal for more information about his final days.

Totti's final match ends in celebration as Roma reaches CL
Forgive me for not giving interviews and clarifying my thoughts, but it's not easy to turn out the light. But I still hated this footballer called Totti and weirdly, it was for none of all the above.

Raids are still taking place across Manchester as security services piece together Abedi's final movements before the attack and 11 men remain in custody in connection with the attack.

The explosion killed 22 people — including seven children under 18 — and injured more than 100.

On Friday evening a 44-year-old man was arrested in the Rusholme area of the city.

A total of 13 people have been arrested in the terror investigation, two of whom have been released without charge, the Greater Manchester Police said.

Greater Manchester Police said two men, aged 20 and 22, were detained early Saturday on suspicion of terror offenses.

Abedi was known to United Kingdom security services, but his risk to the public remained "subject to review", according to reports.

"We are getting a greater understanding of the preparation of the bomb", Britain's most senior counter-terrorism officer Mark Rowley said.

The Muslim Council of Britain described the bombing as "horrific" and "criminal", while the Manchester Council of Mosques said it was "mindless and unjustifiable".

But security remained high at major events across Britain on Sunday, including the Great Manchester Run road race, where police armed with submachine guns protected thousands of participants and spectators.

Despite the country being placed on critical alert, police have urged people to go out and enjoy themselves.

BHP name change not intended as riposte to Elliott Group
However, he said he was not convinced by Elliott's argument that now was the right time for BHP to divest petroleum assets. BHP advanced 0.8 percent to A$24.02 in Sydney trading Tuesday, extending gains in the past year to 29 percent.

"I believe we can get them to be more successful in working with us to find a way of getting some of that information", she said.
