Obama’s White House Counsel Nails It The Principal Witness Against Trump is Himself

Senate panel seeks Flynn documents in Russia probe

President Trump fires FBI Director James Comey in the midst of the bureau's investigation into the White House's ties to Russian Federation.

President Donald Trump said Thursday the investigations into his campaign were "set up by the Democrats", though Republicans are a majority in both houses of Congress and the USA intelligence community has already concluded that Russian Federation interfered in the election.

Obama fired Flynn in 2014 because of his disruptive management style, and personally warned Trump against naming Flynn as national security adviser.

The White House has officially blamed Comey's handling of the Clinton investigations for his firing.

The report also indicates that the deal will only go ahead on the condition Wayne Rooney leaves the club in the summer. And when the transfer window eventually opens in June, he will have no shortage of suitors vying for his signature.

However, Trump said in his interview with NBC News that the warning "did not sound like an emergency" and he wanted to be fair to Flynn.

Deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, when asked at Thursday's White House press briefing, said it was inappropriate for Trump to have asked Comey if he was under investigation.

A former US military intelligence chief, retired lieutenant general Flynn was generously paid to attend a gala of Russia's RT television in December 2015, where he sat with President Vladimir Putin, raising suspicions about his ties with Moscow.

The Senate committee also sent requests for documents to Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former adviser Roger Stone, and former campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page. John Cornyn of Texas, after noting he had voted earlier for her confirmation as a deputy attorney general, said he was "enormously disappointed" that she had in effect overruled him on the travel ban, on the grounds it violated the constitutional protection of freedom of religion.

Obviously, Trump knows who Sally Yates is. She held her ground, saying: "I believed any argument (the Justice Department) would have to make in its defense would have to be grounded in the truth". She did not shed much light on other aspects of investigations of allegations that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 U.S. election and whether there was collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and Moscow. Democratic Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta has urged her to run for governor of Georgia next year, apparently without evidence she has any such interest.
