Greg Gianforte wins special election in Montana

With the possibility of a Democrat holding a US House seat in the state for the first time in two decades, the race drew global attention.

Gianforte ran for governor in Montana last fall as a moderate supporter Donald Trump supporter.

The Guardian's Ben Jacobs, according to other journalists who were present, was asking questions to Gianforte when the candidate allegedly grabbed the journalist by the neck and slammed him to the ground.

"However, Jacobs detailed the incident in the back of an ambulance after the alleged attack, telling The Guardian,"[Gianforte] took me to the ground". "So, that is wrong and it should not have happened". And I'm not proud of what happened.

Gianforte, a multimillionaire tech entrepreneur who was backed by some Republican Party heavyweights in the final weeks of the race, kept a low profile on Thursday, according to local news outlets. A runoff election is scheduled for next month in Georgia between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel after Ossoff fell just short of winning outright.

Hassan Rouhani wins second term as Iran president
Rouhani is seen as relatively moderate in Iran, while Raisi was considered to be a more hard-line conservative candidate. He is close to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, who stopped short of endorsing anyone in the election.

In conceding Thursday night, Quist told supporters he called Gianforte and stressed the need to listen to all Montanans.

President Donald Trump applauds Thursday night's Montana victory by Republican Greg Gianforte.

At his election night rally in Bozeman on Thursday, Gianforte apologized for his behavior. As Jacobs was attempting to ask him a question about the Republican alternative to Obamacare in a private room, Gianforte reportedly assaulted the reporter, leaving him sprawled out and breaking his glasses.

"I should not have treated that reporter that way and for that I'm sorry, Mr Jacobs".

While most Montana voters have already cast their ballots by mail, Bullock maintained that he hoped the incident would serve as a "wake-up call" for undecided voters who head to the polls today. Shaun Scott, a computer science professor at Carroll College in Helena, voted for Gianforte despite the assault charge because he felt Gianforte would do a better job helping create high technology jobs in Montana.

Ozark Teaser: Jason Bateman Leads the Netflix Original Dark Drama
The teaser clip also sees Bateman's Bryde over his head in dirty money, domestic disputes, possible arson and a strip club. Ozark also stars Laura Linney , Sofia Hublitz, and Skylar Gaertner.

The reporter posted an audio clip in which a loud crash is heard, and Gianforte then appears to say: "The last time you came in here you did the same thing".

Montana Republican congressional candidate Greg Gianforte was elected to the House of Representatives yesterday, and this is monumental for at least two reasons. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has also denounced Gianforte's actions.

Almost 70 percent of votes in Montana were cast early - before the alleged assault took place.

A race that was expected to be a test of President Donald Trump's political influence ahead of next year's US congressional elections was jolted by the charge against Gianforte, a wealthy technology executive who had urged voters to send him to Congress to help Trump. He also enjoyed comparisons made to former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. He stuck to issues that have broad appeal in Montana, such as maintaining and improving access to public land.

Libertarian Mark Wicks had 6% the vote with 17,655 votes.
